"Skënderbeg put his chest..." - Rama: EU membership, an

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that our country's entry into the European Union is an existential issue.

Rama made the comments today in the series "Sy m'sy", where he responds live to commentators on social networks.

Rama said that Albania cannot be a black camel being eaten by a wolf, while adding that we must be in the EU as our ancestors wanted.

He also mentioned the national hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, and the well-known poet Naim Frashëri, who had the West as their point of orientation.

"If you see what a complex situation Europe and the world are in, joining the EU is an existential issue, we cannot stand alone, we cannot be the sheep being eaten by the wolf. We must be in the EU as our ancestors wanted."

In the time of Skanderbeg there was no EU but there was Europe, and he put his chest on it and defended it. Even in the time of the Renaissance there was none, but Naim Frashëri said 'the sun rises where it sets'.

"Today, integration is existential. Whoever has the right to vote on May 11th must vote for Albania in the EU, there are many reasons to do this, patriotic and personal reasons," Rama said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
