Socialist Party MP Plarent Ndreca is totally against the arrest of Mayor Erion Veliaj.

In an interview with Andrea Dangli, Ndreca said that the court should also analyze the damages he caused to the city of Tirana, since according to him, Veliaj has another quality as an elected official.

"I have read the decision to some extent. It is a decision taken disproportionately in terms of what it represents for the Municipality and the Socialist Party. The damages caused to the city and the SP subject have not been analyzed. The code also determines it. Because imprisonment is an extreme measure. It has another quality before the law, it is exercising its duty.
