Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi announced today all the problems encountered so far with the process of distributing envelopes with diaspora votes and the concerns of the opposition. In a press conference, the head of the CEC admitted that 21 thousand envelopes have not yet been delivered to voters' addresses by the postal company.
"There are envelopes that have not yet been distributed, of which 11,000 are due to address-related issues. The rest are related to those voters who have been notified by the company, but the voter has not yet gone."
Celibashi acknowledged the problems with the distribution of ballot envelopes in Greece, where there have been many complaints from parties. For this reason, he suggested that Albanian voters go to DHL offices themselves and inquire about the envelope and send it, since the deadline was May 8.
"There are delays with postal deliveries from DHL. We have a contract, it will be decided at the end if it was implemented. The problems are individual. We thank the parties, but we are aware of complaints from voters. As of the moment we speak, there are 156 complaints to the CEC, of which 90 are reports that the DHL envelope was left at the entrance of the apartment or mailbox. There are 21 complaints that DHL refuses to come and take the envelope back. There are 9 voters who have reported that their ballot has not arrived. Four voters have filed a complaint that they have not received a message from DHL. There are 3 voters who have reported and 29 others have reported various problems," said Celibashi. (A2 Televizion)
