A group of residents of the village of Gjegjan in Kukës have protested the damage to the road over 3 km and the bridges at the entrance of the village by the heavy tonnage trucks of the company that use and transport the copper mining resources that the area has without any criteria.
According to the residents, the Gjegjan-Pobreg road has structural damage, cracks in the legs of the bridges and cracks in the asphalt.
In relation to this problematic situation, the residents demand from the local institutions, but also from the central institutions, the undertaking of all legal steps to stop the movement of trucks and to compensate the road axis by the mining companies that use copper ore.
If their concern is not resolved, they will block this road axis.
According to residents, the road where the trucks pass every day was built in 1974 and the maximum tonnage was 25 tons, while the trucks they load today are at least 45 tons. (A2 Televizion)
