A representative of the Egyptian community of Elbasan, together with their lawyer, have filed a criminal complaint with the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office against the headman of the village of Katjel in the Municipality of Prrenjas, who, according to them, has refused to bury in the village cemetery a 63-year-old woman from the Egyptian community, who passed away in that village.

Representatives of the Egyptian community have expressed their concern regarding this event.

Meanwhile, A2 has contacted the mayor of the Rrajca administrative unit that includes the village of Katjel, according to whom the refusal to bury the deceased by the Egyptian community came from the indigenous inhabitants of the village and not from representatives of the local government.

The latter, in order to avoid this conflict, have performed the burial ceremony in the Prrenjas cemetery, with all state expenses.

Meanwhile, it is up to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office to fully shed light on this event and the role of local government representatives. (A2 Televizion)
