Amad Diallo scored the first hat-trick of his Manchester United career, helping the team defeat Southampton 3-1 at Old Trafford and extend their unbeaten run against them to 16 Premier League matches.
Southampton started the game better and were the first to take a chance with Kamaldeen Sulemana, but André Onana blocked his shot from a difficult angle. On the other wing, Garnacho missed a golden opportunity after Rasmus Højlund's pass, while a Kobbie Mainoo cross was stopped by Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Despite dominating the early game, Southampton found the advantage in the 43rd minute, when a corner kick from Mateus Fernandes was accidentally deflected by Manuel Ugarte, crossing over the goal line.
United came into the second half with a new lease of life after the substitutions of Ruben Amorim, but Southampton continued to threaten through Kamaldeen Sulemana and Tyler Dibling. However, Amad Diallo's determination was unstoppable. In the 82nd minute, he equalised after a chance move, turning the game in the Red Devils' favour.
Amad scored the second goal after a beautiful combination with Christian Eriksen and completed his magnificent evening in the dying seconds, taking advantage of a mistake by Harwood-Bellis. The result lifted Manchester United to 12th place, while Southampton continue their transfer crisis, with 18 matches without a win. (A2 Televizion)
