Davide Ancelotti's professional coaching career, separated from his father's journey, will begin in Brazil. After following his father, Carlo, for a long time as an assistant on the benches of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid, the time has come for Davide, at the age of 35, to take the first step and become a coach.
He will do this in Brazil, where his father has decided to embrace the Selecao national team project on the eve of the World Cup to be held in America, Canada and Mexico next summer.
Ancelotti's son has accepted an offer from legendary Brazilian club Botafogo, taking over their coaching position after they sacked coach Renato Paiva. The club's round of 16 exit from the Club World Cup in the derby against Palmeiras was not well-received by Fogao's board, who decided to sack the coach who arrived in Rio de Janeiro in February.
Botafogo have reached an agreement with the Brazilian federation to give the green light to a dual role for Davide Ancelotti, who will thus continue to remain on the Selecao staff as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant.
The debut match for Davide will be the Rio derby against Vasco da Gama, in the Brazilian Super League. (A2 Televizion)
