Mentor Sopjani, a former referee and well-known observer of the Albanian Football Federation, passed away today. He passed away after a serious health condition, as a result of a lung disease.
The news of his passing has touched the sports community in Albania. The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, has also reacted to Sopjan's passing, expressing his pain and condolences to his family and friends.
"A painful news of the passing of Mentor Sopjan, a figure with a valuable contribution as a referee and later as an observer. On behalf of myself and the Albanian Football Federation, I express my most sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and the entire refereeing community.
