Croatian footballer Jakov Jelkic has been found dead in Spain, after going missing on February 1 in the city of Alicante.
Although the autopsy results have not yet been released, Spanish police suspect that the death may have been due to an accident.
According to Spanish media, Jelkic's body was found at a depth of two meters in the sea, near a pier in the port, shortly before 6:30 PM yesterday afternoon.
The 24-year-old footballer, a member of the Swiss club Granges-Paccot, played a football match with his team in Spain a few days ago and was last seen after midnight on Friday, after being with his teammates at a nightclub in Alicante.
Her disappearance was reported on Saturday morning when he did not show up at the hotel, writes A2 CNN.
The death of Jakov Jelkić occurred 24 hours after the discovery of another body in the waters of the same port of Alicante, in this case a woman in an electric wheelchair, who according to all indications died by suicide, so the two cases are not related, the police stressed today. (A2 Televizion)
