Leroy Sane was sent off for violent conduct against Austria as Germany lost another friendly
Germany lost for the sixth time in 2023. Julian Nagelsmann's side put in a poor performance in their friendly against Austria on Tuesday, going down 2-0 in Vienna.
The first goal for the Austrians was scored by midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, who headed a ball into the net from 15 meters away midway through the first half.

A brilliant goal from Christoph Baumgartner in the 72nd minute then sealed victory for Austria.
But more than the catastrophic situation that Germany is going through, the attention on Tuesday evening was grabbed by the red card that the referee Slavko Vincic issued to Leroy Sane.
The striker of "Die Mannschaft" was dismissed from the challenge in the 49th minute, after grabbing and pushing with both hands in the face, the left back of Austria, Phillipp Mwene.

Sane appeared to bump Mwene by accident, but the Austria full-back didn't take it well and hit back. At that moment, Sane reacted by pushing him in the face with both hands, which was considered intolerable behavior and was punished with a red card.
Sane looked furious after the incident and it took the intervention of Austrian captain David Alaba and striker Marko Arnautovic to calm him down and send him towards the Ernst-Happel-Stadion tunnel.
Thus, Tuesday's loss came just three days after Germany were beaten 3-2 at home by Turkey. In addition to losing to Austria and Turkey, the four-time world champions have been beaten by Japan, Colombia, Poland and Belgium. (A2 Televizion)
