Inter Milan secured a golden victory at the Allianz Arena, defeating Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. Davide Frattesi scored the decisive goal in the 88th minute, giving the Blues a significant advantage heading into the return leg at San Siro and ending the Bavarians' 22-match unbeaten run at home in the competition.
Despite the numerous absences, Bayern started brightly and took early risks with Michael Olise, while Harry Kane hit the post in an ideal opportunity after a pass from Olise. Inter tried to get into the game, but Bayern's defense was difficult to penetrate.
However, against the run of play, Inter found the goal at the end of the first half. Carlos Augusto assisted from the left for Marcus Thuram, who passed to Lautaro Martínez, and the Argentine captain finished beautifully with a shot towards the top corner of the goal.
Martínez risked another chance in the second half, but Bayern responded and found the equalizer through Thomas Müller in the 82nd minute after an assist from Konrad Laimer. However, the Bavarians' celebration was short-lived, as a brilliant Inter counterattack was met by Frattesi, who capitalised on a pass from Augusto to seal the victory.
Bayern now face a historic challenge, having never overturned a home defeat in the Champions League knockout stages. Meanwhile, Inter are dreaming of another treble. (A2 Televizion)
