Milan announces the appointment of Igli Tara as Sporting Director

Through an announcement on social media, Italian club AC Milan has announced the appointment of former Albanian national football team striker Igli Tare as Sports Director.

“ He will report directly to the Club’s Executive Director, Giorgio Furlani. Born in Vlora (Albania) on 25 July 1973, Tare has extensive experience in Italian professional football, having played for Brescia, Bologna and Lazio. After retiring from his playing career, he established himself as a high-profile manager, serving as Sporting Director of SS Lazio for over fifteen years. During his tenure, he significantly contributed to the Club’s recent successes, including three Coppa Italia titles and three Italian Super Cups ,” reads the presentation that the red and black club makes to Tare.

It is further highlighted that the club's Executive Director, Giorgio Furlani, has declared his support for Tara and has praised his experience in Serie A.

He is the right person to start our relaunch: his competence, determination and strong values, combined with a deep understanding of Italian football and an international vision, make him the ideal profile to support the next chapter of the Club, through the development of an ambitious sporting project ," Forlani declared.

Tare himself has stated that " becoming part of a club like Milan is a source of great pride and responsibility ."
