While the Real camp is celebrating reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League after the dramatic match against Atletico in the Madrid derby, the Colchoneros are furious.
In the post-match press conference, coach Diego Simeone erupted over Julian Alvarez's cancelled penalty that was decisive.
"I've never seen VAR call a referee for a situation like tonight," Cholo said nervously.
"I say to everyone here: 'Raise your hand if you saw Julian touch the ball twice in the penalty'. Come on! Nobody raises their hand. Let's move on to another question. Then about the match: 'I wouldn't talk about it anyway unfortunately, I'm proud of my team'".
Meanwhile, Los Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti also commented on the "Alvarez" episode.
"It's a draw, he takes two touches because he shoots with his right foot and also takes it with his left. I didn't notice it right away. We wanted to let Endrick take the fifth penalty, but then we went straight to Rudiger," the Italian coach said of the Argentine's controversial penalty.
The Real Madrid coach later made a general analysis of the match.
