Big change in the Premier League, as Puma has been announced as the new official ball supplier from the start of the 2025-2026 season, "stealing" the contract from Nike, which had had a monopoly since the 2000-2001 season.
The announcement was made with all due solemnity by the Premier League, with chief executive Richard Masters expressing excitement about the new partnership.
"We are thrilled to welcome Puma as the Premier League's Official Match Ball Supplier. Puma has a proud history in football for many years and we can't wait to see the new ball used in all our matches from next summer onwards. Their global reach and commitment to excellence aligns with our values and we are excited to collaborate on a range of projects to promote the great work being done in communities and inspire fans around the world," Masters said in an official statement.
For his part, Puma CEO Arne Freud did not hide his joy about the agreement, emphasizing the strategic importance of the collaboration.
"The agreement with the Premier League, the most popular football league in the world, is an important step in our strategy to strengthen our brand," said Freud.
Puma is no stranger to the Premier League, as it already maintains a strong presence in the championship, sponsoring Manchester City, one of the league's leading teams.
At the same time, the German equipment company collaborates with the best Premier League players, such as Arsenal's Kai Havertz, Tottenham's James Maddison, Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Everton's Jordan Pickford.
This existing "base" makes Puma's transition into the role of official ball supplier for the Premier League even more natural, as the company has already built strong ties with English football. (A2 Televizion)
