Thomas Tuchel's era as England manager began with three points at Wembley as Myles Lewis-Skelly scored his first international goal to help the Three Lions beat Albania 2-0 in their opening World Cup qualifier.
After reaching the Euro 2024 final just eight months ago, England were aiming for a good start under Tuchel and showed this from the opening minutes.
After a strong start, the home side took the lead in the 20th minute when Jude Bellingham played a perfect pass to Lewis-Skelly, who fired the ball between the legs of Thomas Strakosha. With the goal, the Arsenal talent became the youngest player in history to score on his England debut.
Albania gradually began to react, but England remained the most dangerous in attack.
Bellingham was stopped by Strakosha, while Berat Djimsiti made a crucial save to stop a Harry Kane shot. Minutes later, Dan Burn hit the crossbar with a header.
In the second half, Albania held their ground better, preventing England from creating any clear-cut chances. Kane had a good header but missed the target. However, in the 77th minute, the England captain sealed the victory with a brilliant goal after a pass from Declan Rice.
This confident victory brings England's tally of victories over Albania to seven, getting their journey towards the 2026 World Cup off to a flying start. (A2 Televizion)
