The birthday of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has become the headlines of the world media.
The Spaniard's unusual choice to celebrate his eighteenth birthday in a mysterious villa has sparked much discussion and controversy in Spain, writes A2.
This is because the striker is accused of hiring several people with dwarfism to perform an entertainment show. The Spanish player's party was held in total secrecy, but among the few details that have come to light is said to have been approximately 200 guests who had to leave their mobile phones at the door before entering the villa.
The guests were from every field, not only players from Barcelona, but also the Spanish national team.
Spanish model Claudia Calvo had rejected the footballer's invitation, even though the latter had promised her 15,000 euros for her participation.
Amidst all this turmoil, the Spanish association representing people with dwarfism announced that the court should launch an investigation into the party organized by Yamal. According to it, these are intolerable actions because they perpetuate stereotypes, promote discrimination against all people with disabilities. The association announced that it will take legal and social action to protect dignity, considering that such actions violate not only current legislation, but also the fundamental ethical values of a society that aspires to be equal and respectful, the association's statement said, among other things.
