An extraordinary goal, worthy of the Puskas Award, was scored on Wednesday evening by Italian Sandro Tonali in the Newcastle United-Brentford match.
The 24-year-old Italian secured Newcastle all three points with an incredible shot near the corner flag, an almost impossible angle, but which Tonali turned into a masterpiece.
Fans on social media were stunned by the shot. One said: "Tonali hit it so hard and straight that you wouldn't think, what a player." Another added: "It's impossible he's trying to pass here with that technique and power. Crazy finish if Tonali thought that."
While a third commented: "100 percent Tonali went for it. One of the best goals I've ever seen!" While a fourth added: "Tonali just scored the Puskas Award goal out of absolutely nothing."
