Giant bridge collapses in Beijing

An unusual event has occurred in the northeastern Shunyi district of Beijing, where the bridge over the Chaobai River has partially collapsed after a fire engulfed its structure.

Chinese authorities reported no injuries, as traffic on the bridge had been suspended earlier for safety reasons. The fire, which broke out in the early hours of the morning, caused significant damage to the central section of the bridge, leading to its collapse due to structural weakness created by the flames.

According to reports from local authorities and the Associated Press, the flames have been brought under control and investigations are now underway to determine the cause of the fire.
