Gazans gathered for iftar on the first day of Ramadan. Nearly 5,000 people gathered in Rafah, seated at tables. The iftar was served by volunteers in the area.
Meanwhile, the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas hangs in the balance after Israel blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza, in response to the militant group rejecting a new Israeli proposal to extend the ceasefire without any commitment to end the war or fully withdraw troops. (A2 Televizion)
