A video of four snow leopards in northern Pakistan has delighted many conservationists and wildlife watchers. This is because "encounters" with these giant cats are something truly rare.
The footage was filmed by a National Park employee in the Karakoram mountain range, one of the highest in the world.
He had been following leopard tracks in the snow for a week, but finally managed to film them, by chance, from the roof of his house.
Snow leopards are extremely elusive among big cats and are currently listed as "endangered" by an International Conservation Group.
Residents who live near their habitat usually refer to them as "mountain ghosts" because they almost never have the opportunity to see them with their own eyes. (A2 Televizion)
