Mysterious signal 7 billion light years away reaches Earth, scientists

A mysterious signal has reached our planet from a distant point in space, about 7 billion light years away, a phenomenon that has surprised even scientists.

According to an announcement made by "Science Alert", a team of astronomers has discovered the burst called FRB 20190208A, which comes from a small galaxy and is located around more than half of the visible Universe.

This signal has an "unusual" origin, for which there is still no explanation on Earth. "Most galaxies that host visible fast bursts are massive star-forming galaxies, which could mean that most of them are produced by supernovae," explains astronomer Danté Hewitt from the University of Amsterdam, writes A2 CNN.

Currently, scientists are still not sure what causes these explosions, but they could come from a star-forming region, from supernova remnants, or from very dense inner regions of a galaxy. (A2 Televizion)
