Labor Minister Arrested in Sarajevo, Suspected of Illegal Employment

Police in Sarajevo have arrested Enda Pavić-Pačenković, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, on suspicion of illegal employment, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office confirmed.

Police have raided the offices of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth in Sarajevo Canton.

The raids and the arrest of the Minister of Labor are part of the continuation of the operation called "Zarfi". As part of this operation, on April 10, the Minister of Science, Adna Mesihovic, was arrested, also on suspicion of illegal employment.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office accuses Minister Pavić-Pečenković (from the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Minister Mesihović (from the For the New Generation party) of favoring Obhoxha's sister through the mediation of Ibrahim Obhoxha to enable her employment at the Ministry of Labor.

Obhoxhash is a member of the Board of Directors at the Employment Agency in the Sarajevo Canton and was a member of the Commission that conducted the employment procedure.

He was arrested on April 11 and is suspected of the criminal offense of accepting gifts or other forms of benefit or mediation in the appointment of the director of the Student Center in Sarajevo./ REL (A2 Televizion)
