The European Union has reacted after statements by former Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, who accused Brussels of "deceiving" Serbia in signing the 2013 Agreement with Kosovo.
In a response to N1 television, the EU has denied the accusations, stating that the agreement was reached freely and with full awareness by both parties – both Serbia and Kosovo.
"Both Kosovo and Serbia have entered into the agreements fully consciously and of their own free will," the EU's response states, thus denying Dacic's claims, writes A2 CNN.
Brussels has underlined that the signed agreements remain in force and has requested that both parties actively engage in their implementation.
"The EU expects both parties to contribute, through their statements and actions, to an atmosphere conducive to reconciliation and normalization of relations," the EU's response further stated.
Despite the lack of high-level political meetings, the European Commission has announced that the dialogue has not been interrupted. They recall that meetings of technical negotiators were held in June.
"The dialogue continues through regular bilateral and trilateral meetings at the level of chief negotiators and at the technical level," the statement further said. (A2 Televizion)
