Stoltenberg in Serbia: The gathering of the army near Kosovo does not help

The gathering of Serbian army forces near the border with Kosovo does not help to calm the tense situation between the two countries. This is what NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said to President Aleksandar Vucic during the meeting with him in Belgrade.

"Both sides must reduce tensions and refrain from escalating actions," Stoltenberg said at a joint press conference. Serbia sent its forces near the border with Kosovo after the September 24 attack in Banjska in Zvecan, before withdrawing them after the United States and the European Union reacted.

During the visit to Kosovo a day earlier, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, confirmed that the September 24 attack is proof that the conflict can return to the Western Balkans. He demanded that there be consequences for the aggression in Banjska.

President Vjosa Osmani asked for a quick membership in NATO, while mentioning numerous cases of threats coming from Serbia. (A2 Televizion)
