Kallas begins visit to the Balkans. On April 8, he will be in Albania, meeting

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, begins her first visit to the Western Balkans this Monday.

From April 7 to 9, Kallas will be in Montenegro, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The European Union announced that during her stay in Montenegro, her first stop, the senior official will meet with President Jakov Milatović, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and representatives of civil society.

Montenegro is the country that has advanced the most in the region on its path to EU membership. On April 8, Kallas will be in Albania where she will meet with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. She will also hold a joint press conference with the latter.  

"Kallas will also participate in the signing ceremony of the European Investment Bank grant and loan agreements for the Durrës-Rrogozhina railway," the EU statement said.

On the last stop of her visit to the Western Balkans, Kallas will stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she will hold meetings with the heads of the Tripartite Presidency, the President of the Council of Ministers and the Foreign Minister of Bosnia, and representatives of the European force in Bosnia, EUFOR.
