Serbia has considered Kenya's recognition of Kosovo a "hostile act" and has warned that it will take "all necessary diplomatic measures" against this act.
"Kenya's action to recognize the state of Kosovo constitutes a serious violation of international law and a direct violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244," the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a reaction.
Serbia also claims that with this action, Kenya "has also violated the UN Charter" . This recognition, according to official Belgrade, "also undermines efforts for constructive dialogue, regional stability and respect for the international legal order" .
Serbia was also impressed by the fact that Kenya also referred to the decision of the International Court of Justice on the issue of Kosovo's independence, describing it as "unfounded."
The reaction also stated that Kenya's decision will affect this country's relations with Serbia.
Serbia, at the end of its reaction, claims that in the last eight years "28 states have withdrawn or suspended recognition of Kosovo's independence", and that only "two new states have recognized it".
" The clear majority of the international community, law and justice are on Serbia's side. Serbia remains committed to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity with all diplomatic and legal means at its disposal ," it says at the end of this response. (A2 Televizion)
