Russia has no hand in the armed attack in Banjska of Zvecan, nor has it instructed Serbia to destabilize the Western Balkans. This was said by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov after he was asked by journalists in Skopje, North Macedonia, regarding claims that he intends to cause unrest in the region. He accused the West of waging a hybrid war against Russia," claiming that it is blaming Moscow for all the problems in the Western Balkans.
According to him, it is the West that has always had an interest in inciting nations against each other. Lavrov also denied claims that they had signed policy harmonization between Moscow and Belgrade in New York.
"The agreement with Serbia was not an alignment of policies, but a consultation plan. It was not about harmonizing policies, it was just a consultation plan. The journalists who were there from Serbia and Russia were filming us as we signed the plan, but Washington reacted immediately saying: how dare you Serbs, how dare you sign a consultation plan with Russia, as an aggressive state?", Lavrov said.
As he mentioned serious efforts to exchange territories between Kosovo and Serbia in recent times, he added that Russia supports any agreement that is suitable for Serbs and their neighbors.
"Recently, there have been serious considerations for the exchange of territories between Southern Serbia and Kosovo. If we are talking about any agreement that would be suitable for the Serbs and their neighbors, then I think that all the countries of the region, including us, would be happy and support this. Maybe not all the countries, but the majority", Lavrov emphasized.
Commenting on Blinken and Borrell's departure from the OSCE summit in Skopje so as not to face him, Lavrov called them cowards who are afraid of honest talks and facts. (A2 Televizion)
