New government approved in Serbia, Macut "dreams" about Kosovo

The Serbian parliament approved the new government led by Prime Minister Gjuro Macut this Wednesday.

With 153 votes in favor, 46 against and the absence of 51 deputies in the chamber, the new government will take office, while the main challenges are the economy but also the relationship with Pristina, and the resolution of the crisis created by the protests that have gripped the country.

According to Macu, Serbia's economic policy will not change. The new Prime Minister, while explaining his program to the members of Parliament, said that the policy of maintaining macroeconomic stability that Serbia has had so far will continue.

Serbia's new government will consist of 30 ministers, most of whom were also in the cabinet of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, who resigned after students flooded the streets following the tragedy in Novi Sad.

MPs from the NADA coalition and the Democratic Party did not participate in the parliament session.

Gjuro Macut, during his presentation, did not forget to mention Kosovo, claiming that Serbia will continue to be a constructive actor in this issue.

He stressed to lawmakers that Belgrade will not agree to solutions that are not in line with the country's Constitution and UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

He emphasized that the implementation of the Constitution also means that " Kosovo and Vojvodina are integral parts of the territory of Serbia ."

" Kosovo remains a central issue of the highest national interest and preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty is one of the most important foreign policy priorities ," Macut declared. (A2 Televizion)
