Kamberi reacts to the proposal of the Albanian for minister: A heavy blow to

Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has said that Demo Berisha's proposal for the position of Minister for Human and Minority Rights is a serious blow to every Albanian who has suffered, resisted and sacrificed for their rights in Serbia.

According to him, this appointment is not only politically unacceptable, but also morally shameful, because Demo Berisha is not a representative of human rights, but a symbol of the denial of the national and political identity of the Albanians of Kosovo and the Presevo Valley.

"As evidenced by the footage, public statements and interviews, Demo Berisha is a former officer of the Serbian army, part of the structures that have been involved in war crimes in Kosovo. Although he says he is from Peja, he publicly declares that his homeland is Serbia, that Kosovo is "Kosovo and Metohija" and denies the existence of the Republic of Kosovo," he wrote on Facebook.

Kamberi continues that Demo Berisha, who supports the ideology that Kosovo is Serbia and Albanians must accept this reality, is promoting this spirit as a “model Albanian” for Serbia. Kamberi calls for this appointment not to go without a reaction from either the Albanians of the Valley, or from the institutions in Pristina, official Tirana or the international factor, adding that silence towards this absurdity is complicity.

Vučić, like Milošević, "continues with the politics of honest Albanians"

Demo Berisha's proposal for the position of Minister for Human and Minority Rights is a heavy blow to every Albanian who has suffered, resisted and sacrificed for their rights in Serbia.

This appointment is not only politically unacceptable, but also morally shameful. Because Demo Berisha is not a representative of human rights, but a symbol of the denial of the national and political identity of the Albanians of Kosovo and the Presevo Valley.

As evidenced by footage, statements and public interviews, Demo Berisha is a former Serbian army officer, part of the structures that were involved in war crimes in Kosovo.

Although he says he is from Peja, he publicly declares that his homeland is Serbia, that Kosovo is “Kosovo and Metohija” and denies the existence of the Republic of Kosovo. Not only that – he is the founder of an organization with a Serbian name, “Matica Albanaca Srbije,” which protects the legacy of Serbia’s collaborators in the darkest periods of our history, even Esat Pasha Toptani, known for betraying the Albanian nation.

Demo Beriša can only be Faik Jašari 2.0, who was a participant in the Serbian delegation in Rambouillet. Faik Jašari, although he had chosen to remain part of the Serbian institutions before 1999, was forced to leave Kosovo after the war and has not returned for 20 years.

He is a symbol of a past that has ended. He remains outside the institutions, outside Kosovo, as a figure of oblivion and defeat, a quisling figure.

Meanwhile, Demo Berisha, who shares the same ideology as Jašar – that Kosovo is Serbia and Albanians must submit to this reality – is promoting this spirit as a “model Albanian” for Serbia.

He appears in interviews denouncing NATO, supporting the Serbian narrative about the war, and presenting himself as a representative of Albanians in Serbia. He has been and is being used as a propaganda tool to legitimize the narrative that Albanians are integrated and content in Serbia – as long as they deny Kosovo and obey Belgrade.

Demo Berisha does not represent Albanians, but a version of him instrumentalized for Serbian political interests, like some others during the Milosevic period.

His proposal as minister is not about human rights, but about continuing a policy that will silence the voice of true Albanians in Serbia, as well as representing an insult to all other minorities in Serbia, which make up 20 percent of the population of this country.

This proposal is dangerous because it legalizes the denial of the national identity of Albanians, and the institution that should protect their rights will become a parody of itself.

Therefore, this appointment should not go without reaction - neither from the Albanians of the Valley, nor from the institutions in Pristina, nor from official Tirana, nor from the international factor.

Silence towards this absurdity is complicity.
