The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has harshly criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during her visit to Belgrade, writes A2 CNN. In a statement to the media in Serbia, Kallas noted that Aleksandar Vučić should not have traveled to Moscow.
Kallas admitted that she had discussed this fact with Vučić during the European Political Committee Summit in Tirana. “I had the opportunity to discuss Vučić’s trip to Moscow when we were in Tirana. I expressed my point of view, which is very clear. I do not understand why it is necessary to stand side by side with the person who is waging this terrible war in Ukraine. But President Vučić presented his side of the story to me,” Kallas told reporters in Belgrade.
Further on the social network X, Kallas emphasized that: "My message to the authorities in Belgrade is clear. I want to see Serbia advancing towards the EU. For this, political leaders must make the necessary reforms and clarify the strategic direction," Kallas wrote on X. In conclusion, Kallas said that, "the issue of harmonizing the country is also related to the message you are sending. Do you want to be with us, because if you want to be in the EU, we work together and we want to see this also from the candidate countries, there are no shortcuts for you," concluded the EU Foreign Policy Chief.
