"Flying tanks" in Belgrade, the EU member state that is helping Serbia

"Flying tanks" have arrived in Belgrade. It is about 11 new Russian Mi-35 helicopters, which Serbia recently received from Cyprus, a member country of the European Union.

It is reported that the war helicopters, very powerful, were transported a few days ago by the largest aircraft produced in the series, the Antonov AN-124, which took off from a military base in Cyprus and landed at the Serbian military base in Batajnica.

Media reports that Serbia has also purchased four more powerful helicopters located in Rostov, Russia, but their delivery is currently impossible.

President Aleksandar Vucic, speaking about the Mi-35 helicopters, said that they "have an ominous sound for the enemies". It is not yet clear whether the European Union is aware of this action by Cyprus, nor the position of Brussels on this development.

Military experts point out that "the decision to sell the helicopters was made due to the impossibility of their normal maintenance after the imposition of EU sanctions on military-technical cooperation with Russia in 2014".

Cyprus bought the "flying tanks" from Moscow in 2001. Their presentation takes place at the same time when the Cypriot president, Nikos Christodoulis, is visiting Serbia. (A2 Televizion)
