Vučić talks with the British Foreign Secretary about Kosovo and the situation

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said in Belgrade on Wednesday that he had spoken with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about the process of normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo, as well as the unconstitutional actions of Milorad Dodik, the president of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb entity, Republika Srpska.

Speaking after meeting with Vučić in the Serbian capital, Lammy said that a stable and secure Western Balkans is important to the United Kingdom and that Serbia plays a fundamental role in ensuring this stability.

Vučić said that when it comes to the Kosovo issue, he and Lammy agreed that dialogue is of key importance.

Lammy is staying in Belgrade after visiting Pristina in the last two days, where he met with Kosovo leaders.

During his stay in Pristina, the British chief diplomat stressed that his country wants "sustainable and peaceful normalization" between Kosovo and Serbia, while calling on the Kosovo authorities to engage energetically in the dialogue with Serbia, mediated by the European Union.

Lammy's visit to the Western Balkan countries, according to the UK Government, has the key aim of strengthening cooperation in combating irregular immigration and serious organised crime.

The situation in Bosnia
Lammy said that he also spoke with Vučić about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the actions of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

"We started talking about what concerns me - the unconstitutional actions of President Dodik," Lammy said after the meeting.

However, Vučić stated that he disagrees with Lammy's opinion on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I cannot agree that Milorad Dodik's unconstitutional actions are the culprit or the only culprit for the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Vučić said.

He added that Serbia will always respect the Dayton Agreement, and in accordance with it, the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We don't want any conflict," Vucic said.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested on March 27 international arrest warrants, through INTEPOL, for Dodik and Nenad Stevandic, the President of the People's Assembly of Republika Srpska.

The request for international arrest warrants was made after they failed to respond to a summons from the Bosnian General Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of violating the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

But on Wednesday, Dodik said he had been informed by Vučić that INTERPOL had not accepted the Bosnian court's request to issue international arrest warrants against him and Stevandic.

Vučić did not talk about this at the press conference with Lammy on Wednesday.

The meeting between Lammy and Vučić was attended by Serbia's acting ministers, Sinisa Mali, Marko Đurić and Ivica Dačić.

After the meeting, the parties signed three memorandums of understanding. /REL (A2 Televizion)
