Vučić and Dačić deny it, video of sonic weapon that "split in

Serbian security forces are accused of using a military sonic weapon to break up a large peaceful rally against corruption last weekend in Serbia.

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on the Serbian capital on Saturday to protest the deaths of 15 people when a tent collapsed at a railway station on November 1.

The demonstrations that began in response to the tragedy have shaken the power of Vučić, whose administration is accused of rampant corruption.

On Saturday evening, hundreds of protesters denounced the use of the secret weapon, with Vučić and his minister Dačić immediately denying that such a thing had happened.

But a video that recently appeared on social media shows thousands of protesters standing in silence when a mysterious sound exploded, forcing them to move away from its range.

Those exposed to the weapon experienced sharp ear pain, disorientation and panic, while prolonged exposure can cause ruptured eardrums and irreversible hearing damage.

Some security experts have claimed that a US-made long-range acoustic device (LRAD) - a specialized sound-emitting device capable of delivering high-frequency sound waves over considerable distances - was used in the protest.
