One person was seriously injured in a knife attack that took place in the area between the US embassy and the Holocaust Memorial in central Berlin.
Police and many rescue teams have arrived at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that one person was seriously injured in the attack that occurred around 6 p.m.

The injured man is a man who has been admitted to Charité hospital and is in critical condition due to severe blood loss.
A knife was found at the scene, and the perpetrator is still at large. Bild reports that the attack does not appear to be related to the embassy or the monument. (A2 Televizion)
