Intense fighting continues between Ukraine and Russia, while the situation on the ground is extremely difficult. This was confirmed by the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, underlining the importance of increasing support for Kiev, as he said, to prevent Putin from winning. The head of the military alliance added that wars are unpredictable and it is not known how the war in Ukraine ends.
"The likelihood of acceptable negotiations increases the more military support we give to Ukraine, because so far we haven't really seen any willingness from Putin to negotiate an acceptable scenario for Ukraine. So the only way to get there is to convince President Putin that he will not win on the battlefield," said Jens Stoltenberg, NATO's secretary general.
His statement came at the defense summit of the European Union. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius delivered bad news for Ukraine, confirming that the West will fail to deliver on its promise to deliver 1 million rounds of ammunition to Kiev by March next year.
"The war Russia is waging against Ukraine is still brutal and relentless, and we expect attacks on vital infrastructure to increase in the winter. Therefore, it is important to strengthen the air defense", said Boris Pistorius, Minister of Defense of Germany.
As the offensive seems to have stalled at the moment, Ukraine takes stock of the 629 days of war by announcing that it has killed over 313,000 Russian soldiers and destroyed thousands of tanks, artillery systems, drones and other weapons. On the other hand, Moscow strengthens the military line. Russia and India signed an agreement on the production and supply of air defense systems. (A2 Televizion)
