Another incident has been recorded with an Air India plane, just four days after the tragedy with 279 victims in Ahmedabad.
Air India flight AI315, en route from Hong Kong to Delhi, was forced to divert and return to the airport of departure after the pilot reported a technical problem mid-flight.
According to official data, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, the same model as the one that crashed four days ago in Ahmedabad, landed safely and all passengers were evacuated as per safety protocols. The aircraft, meanwhile, is undergoing a detailed inspection by technical authorities.
The flight had departed Hong Kong at 12:00 pm local time and was scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 12:20 pm Indian time.
The incident comes just days after the tragic crash of flight AI171, which crashed into a residential building for doctors in Ahmedabad, killing at least 279 people. Only one passenger managed to survive in what is being described as a "miracle."
The investigation into the crash of flight AI171 continues, as new evidence is being analyzed that could shed light on the causes of the crash. A new video, which an aviation expert says could be crucial, shows that the wings may not have been in the correct position for takeoff, directly contributing to the loss of altitude.
A second black box has also been found, containing recordings of conversations in the cockpit, and is expected to reveal the final moments before the crash, as well as the pilots' reactions.
An experienced pilot, Captain Steve, has suggested that the cause may have been human error by the co-pilot, who made a simple but fatal action during the takeoff phase.
Meanwhile, some experts do not rule out the possibility of a collision with a bird, which, although rare for large aircraft, has happened in the past.
Technical defects or structural problems in the complex design of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft have not been ruled out, which will require months of investigation and engineering analysis to confirm. (A2 Televizion)
