7 mysterious planes over Trump's golf club, US military raises fighter jets

Several fighter jets took off toward President Donald Trump's golf course in New Jersey on Sunday when an unidentified aircraft violated a temporary no-fly zone.

The unknown pilot entered the airspace over Trump National Golf Club Bedminster at around 2:50 p.m. and was immediately escorted out of the area by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) aircraft.

Flares had to be used to get the pilot's attention, but NORAD assured the public that flares are "used with the utmost care for the safety of the intercepted aircraft and people on the ground."

"The flares burn quickly and completely, so there is no risk to people on the ground," NORAD explains.

The Sunday afternoon incident was the second on the same day, following three other unauthorized violations that occurred on Saturday.

By Sunday evening, NORAD announced that the total number of unauthorized airspace violations during President Trump's stay at his New Jersey club had reached seven.

Officials are now urging pilots to be more careful and plan their trips better, as it does not appear that in all seven cases there was any malicious intent in violating the secured space.

"General aviation pilots are reminded to verify all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot advisories and fly informed before each flight," NORAD urged.

President Trump spent the weekend at the Bedminster Golf Club and returned to the White House late Sunday night. Despite the security breach, Trump appeared in good spirits later in the day after learning that actress Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican.

The Daily Mail asked the president to comment on Sweeney's unexpected registration as a Republican voter after she landed in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, and the president didn't hesitate to express his enthusiasm. (A2 Televizion)
