Gaza ceasefire, Hamas releases 12 hostages, but none Israeli

As predicted, the main mission of the cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel started at 15:00, which is the release of the hostages taken on October 7 and, on the other hand, the release of Palestinian prisoners, children and women from the prisons of Tel Avivit.

The first twelve hostages to be released by Hamas in Gaza are all Thai nationals, taken hostage on the day the armed conflict began.

The Prime Minister of Thailand Srettha Thavis announced the news with a post on the X platform.

" It has been confirmed by the security department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that 12 Thai hostages have already been released ," Thavisin wrote.

He added that embassy officials are on their way to retrieve the freed hostages. " They should know their names and details. Please stay tuned ," added the Prime Minister.

So many ambulances were seen arriving at Israel's Hatzerim Air Base, where the freed hostages are expected to arrive, while Egyptian government media reported that official Cairo had brokered a deal to free the 12 Thai hostages.

" Egypt's mediation efforts have resulted in the release of 12 Thai hostages and 13 Israelis, including women and children, held by Hamas ," it said in a statement.

As for the Israelis, Al Jazeera, referring to several Israeli television stations, reports that they have been transferred to the Red Cross in Gaza and are on their way to the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

After arriving at the airbase, the freed hostages will be flown or flown to five different hospitals across the country for medical treatment, as needed, Israeli officials said.
