Russia reacts with criticism to NATO's plans to build a "military Schengen" for the free movement of armed forces and combat equipment. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said such a development further escalates tensions between Moscow and the West, while warning of a backlash if the proposal were to become a reality.

This statement is nothing more than inciting tensions in Europe and will have consequences. Such statements mean that those in Europe do not want to listen to our concerns. They talk about their security at the expense of our security. I want to say once again, it is NATO that constantly moves its military infrastructure towards our border. We are not moving towards NATO infrastructure. And this cannot but cause concern and cannot but lead to retaliatory measures to ensure our safety.

Furthermore, the spokesperson also commented on the statement of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, on the development of relations with NATO and the organization of military exercises with the North Atlantic Alliance.

"We understand the environment Serbia is in, of course, the best way to build relations is dialogue. It is very difficult for the Serbs, because they are under constant pressure," the Kremlin spokesman underlined. Putin's official added further that Russia and Serbia continue to maintain a special relationship and partnership. Peskov's statements come after the head of NATO's logistics command, General Alexander Sollfrank, expressed his concerns about the numerous red tapes and the delay in the movement of troops and weapons in Europe in the event of a conflict with Russia.

The Western alliance is constantly supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom, while Kiev waits to become a member state. However, NATO has often stressed that it wants to avoid a war against Russia, given Moscow's large nuclear arsenal. (A2 Televizion)
