A US Navy reconnaissance aircraft with nine crew members on board has crashed into the water on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
The incident occurred after the aircraft veered off the runway at a US Marine Corps base on the island, according to military officials. Fortunately, the people aboard the P-8A Poseidon escaped without serious injury.
Photos taken at the scene show the plane above the waterline in Kaneohe Bay, outside the Hawaii Marine Corps Base on the main island of Oahu.
According to the National Weather Service, visibility was about one mile at the time of the incident, with winds of up to 21 miles per hour and fog. The P-8A Poseidon has been described as a "workhorse" of US Navy operations. (A2 Televizion)
