Former Prime Minister of Canada and President of the International Democratic Union (IDU), Stephen Harper, has sent an official invitation to the President of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to participate in the IDU Forum 2025, to be held in Brussels from May 14 to 16.
In his letter, Harper praises the contribution of the Democratic Party of Albania as a pillar of the global center-right and Berisha's role in defending freedom and democracy, writes A2 CNN.
The forum will bring together political leaders and thinkers from more than 80 member parties to discuss global challenges and strengthen cooperation between conservative parties in emerging democracies.

I am writing to you today, in my capacity as President of the International Democracy Union (IDU), the global alliance of center-right parties, to invite you to participate in our upcoming event in Brussels this year. We are grateful to the Democratic Party of Albania for its contribution as a pillar of our global center-right family, and we thank you for your steadfast stance in the global battle to defend freedom and democracy against the ongoing threat of authoritarianism.
