Public support for US President Donald Trump has fallen to its lowest level since his return to the White House, as Americans show signs of concern about his efforts to expand power.

This is the conclusion reached by a recent survey conducted by Reuters and Ipsos, writes A2.

Only 42 percent of those surveyed approve of his performance as President, down from 43 percent three weeks earlier and 47 percent of those who supported him in the first hours after his inauguration on January 20.

While the Republican's approval rating remains higher than that of his Democratic predecessor, the results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll suggest that many Americans are unhappy with his decision to punish universities he sees as too liberal.

About 83 percent of the more than 4,000 respondents say the President should obey Federal Court rulings even if he doesn't want to. On immigration, where he enjoys the most support, 45 percent of respondents support him, while 46 percent do not.   (A2 Televizion)
