While US President Donald Trump seeks a ceasefire in Gaza, Benjamin Netanyahu intensifies attacks.
Israeli forces bombed a cafe, a school and an aid distribution center in the past few hours, killing at least 95 Palestinians. At least 60 of them were victims of attacks that targeted Gaza City and the north of the territory, A2 writes.
39 people were killed after a bomb hit a popular seaside cafe, Al-Baqa, which is popular with young people, activists and journalists for its internet access. Among the victims was a journalist, as well as women and children who had gathered in the cafe.
A witness said that Israeli planes had bombed the bar: "Suddenly we heard a loud explosion and started running. We found bodies scattered in the sea. This is a public area where people come to find some relief. But it was still targeted."
The bombardment flattened the cafe and left a large crater in the ground. Al Jazeera reports that the attack came without warning. Also on Monday, Israeli forces struck a warehouse where aid was being distributed in the Zitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, in central Gaza, the army attacked the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Hospital, where thousands of displaced families had taken shelter. In southern Gaza, an Israeli strike killed at least 15 Palestinians waiting for food at aid distribution centers, while 50 others were injured. According to reports, at least 600 Palestinians have been killed while waiting for food since the US and Israel took control of aid distribution.
In parallel with the bombing, Israel is also continuing its ground offensive with tanks advancing into the eastern areas of Gaza City. The intensification of the attacks comes as Israeli officials have traveled to Washington for talks regarding a possible ceasefire. Amid growing pressure to end the war, Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to convene his security cabinet soon to determine the next steps in Gaza. (A2 Televizion)
