The newly appointed commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Pakpour, threatened to "open the gates of hell" in response to Israel's attacks on Iran, which also killed his predecessor, Hossein Salami, writes A2 CNN.
"In revenge for the blood of our fallen comrades, scientists and citizens, the gates of hell will soon open for this child-killing regime," Pakpour said, in a message published by the Iranian News Agency, IRNA.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss ambassador, who also represents US interests in Tehran. "During the meeting, the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed its deep anger and strong opposition to this act of aggression by Israel and the support it has given to the US," IRNA reported.

Israel launched unprecedented strikes on Iran, targeting the country's nuclear program and military leaders, in an operation that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said would last for days. The Israeli military said it had used 200 fighter jets. In response, Iran launched more than 100 drones into Israeli territory, according to the Israeli military.
President Donald Trump told CNN that the US “of course” supports Israel and called its overnight strike on Iran “a very successful attack.” Trump warned Iran earlier today to accept a nuclear deal “before there’s nothing left,” suggesting that future Israeli attacks on the country could be “even more brutal.”
According to information so far, the four main Iranian figures killed by the Israeli attack are: Major General Hossein Salami - Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Bagheri - Chief of the Army General Staff, Ali Shamkhani - Former Senior National Security Advisor, and Amir Ali Hajizadeh - Commander of the IRGC Air Force.
