Israel is ready to expand its territory by taking part of the territory of the Gaza Strip.

This fact was made known by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who in a hearing in Parliament repeated the threats against Hamas, writes A2.

"The longer Hamas persists in its refusal to release our hostages, the more powerful the repression we will exert will be, including the expansion of our territory into Palestinian lands and many other things," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu's threat is related to the fact that Hamas is not releasing Israeli hostages. Netanyahu's reaction comes a day after Israel's defense minister warned Gaza of further territorial gains.

Meanwhile, Palestinians demonstrated against Hamas in northern Gaza, in what appeared to be the largest protest against the militant group since its attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Video obtained by CNN and Reuters shows large crowds, estimated to number in the thousands. They chanted "For God's sake, Hamas must go," "Hamas terrorists," and "We want to end the war."

A message shared on social media appears to call for nine demonstrations against Hamas across Gaza, with protest organizers saying "our voices must reach all the spies who sold our blood."

The protests come after the death toll in Gaza passed 50,000 on Sunday, according to the enclave's Health Ministry. The crisis in the enclave, which relies almost exclusively on humanitarian aid, worsened when Israel said it was blocking all aid from entering Gaza in early March after talks to extend a ceasefire broke down.

Israel has frequently accused Hamas of stealing humanitarian aid sent to the enclave to "rebuild its war machine," something the militant group denies. (A2 Televizion)
