A key member of Elon Musk's technology team, Edward Coristine, has had suspicious ties to a cybercrime group called "EGodly." The group was known for trafficking stolen data and cyber-harassing an FBI agent, according to digital documents analyzed by Reuters.
Coristine, who is only 19 years old, has been described by Musk as “Big Balls” and has gained fame for his role in the “Department of Government Efficiency,” an unofficial team working to restructure the federal administration. According to some sources, he has extensive access to government networks and is listed as a “senior advisor” to the State Department and the Cybersecurity Agency (CISA), writes A2 CNN.
According to the digital documents, Coristine ran a company called DiamondCDN, which provided cybersecurity services. One of its clients was EGodly, a shady group that prided itself on stealing phone numbers, hacking email accounts, and attacking law enforcement. In February 2023, the group publicly thanked DiamondCDN for protecting them from DDoS attacks and securing their website.
EGodly has also carried out serious attacks on an FBI agent, publishing his personal information and making abusive phone calls to him. The group has also been linked to cases of “swatting,” the dangerous practice of false reporting that leads to the dispatch of armed forces to specific addresses.
The fact that Coristine had connections to EGodly just two years ago raises serious concerns about the security of government networks. Former deputy director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, or CISA, Nitin Natarajan, called the situation “disturbing” due to the closeness of these connections.
Neither Coristine nor Musk's team have responded to media inquiries, while the FBI and CISA have not commented on the matter. (A2 Televizion)
