A Turkish delegation led by the head of the Intelligence Service (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, flew to Damascus today, in an unusual visit to the Syrian capital after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
According to international media reports and photos published on social networks, the Turkish intelligence chief visited the Umayyad Mosque and prayed there.
The move by Turkey is not at all unrelated to developments in the region, and the fact that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave an order to Kalin for this specific high-risk move under extremely fraught conditions shows Ankara's clear intentions.

Ankara deliberately chooses to extend its influence even deeper in Syria, this time wearing its official political and diplomatic cloak.
Turkey's move is undoubtedly one that the US and Israel were not informed about, at least not before its execution, and is indicative of the manner, means and involvement that Erdogan aims for the newly emerged state. the Assad dictatorship.

The Turkish move could also be the first step to recognize the current situation in the region, despite the fact that Ankara has openly supported the Syrian National Army (SNA) which has often been involved in battles for control of the northern and eastern regions of Syria for 11 years. the last one.
Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın received a very warm welcome in the Syrian capital Damascus. The fact that senior Turkish officials were received by HTS rebel operatives also shows that they are currently under pressure to immediately provide interim answers to the Syrian people, something they are unlikely to do through official channels as they are on the list black terrorism from the West and all humanitarian aid is frozen to such regimes.

Turkey's move will certainly bring moves from Israel as well as from the US, but it still clearly shows that Erdogan is ready and prepared for the developments and therefore today has the reflexes to take advantage of them. (A2 Televizion)
