Earthquakes shake the ground in the Vanuatu archipelago and Indonesia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 was recorded at 15:47 local time, off the northern coast of the Vanuatu archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean.

According to data from the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and the US Geological Monitoring Service USGS, the earthquake had a depth of less than 20 kilometers and an epicenter in front of the Sanma Islands.

There are currently no reports of damage to people or property, nor has a tsunami warning been issued.

Another magnitude 6 earthquake was recorded at 9:48 a.m. local time off the west coast of North Moluccas, Indonesia.

According to data from the American geological monitoring service USGS, the earthquake was at a depth of about 115 kilometers deep and an epicenter at sea 95 km from Tobelo.
