Germany's foreign minister has said that European countries are open to talking to Iran about a solution to its nuclear program.
According to foreign media, Johann Wadephul said: "It is never too late to sit at the negotiating table, if you come with honest intentions."
He spoke a day after a phone call with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, along with his French and British counterparts and the EU's foreign policy chief.
According to him, European officials made it clear that their countries, which were part of Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, "are still willing to negotiate a solution."
He added that Iran "now needs to act urgently" and "must take confidence-building measures and make everything verifiable," including a credible statement that Tehran is not seeking nuclear weapons. (A2 Televizion)
