Fires 450,000 rounds per minute, China unveils hypersonic killer machine gun

China has unveiled a weapon that could redefine the landscape of modern warfare.

Researchers from Taiyuan, an industrial center in central China, have announced that they are developing a rapid-fire machine gun capable of firing 450,000 rounds per minute, with a potential total rate of 2 million rounds per minute when equipped with five magazines that supply it.

Designed to launch projectile velocities to match that of hypersonic missiles traveling at speeds above Mach 7, this innovative weapon could change the trajectory of the hypersonic arms race.

This weapon represents the culmination of decades of innovation in rapid fire technology. As we know, the idea of machine guns firing hundreds of thousands of rounds per minute is not new.

In the 1990s, Australian inventor Mike O'Dwyer introduced a similar concept with his Metal Storm system, capable of firing 1 million rounds per minute using a revolutionary 36-magazine design. (A2 Televizion)
